How to Connect Your Webflow Site to Lovarank
How to Connect Your Webflow Site to Lovarank
This article explains how to set up the Webflow integration so you can publish articles directly from Lovarank to your Webflow CMS collection.
What It Does / Why It Matters
The Webflow integration allows you to publish content directly from Lovarank to your Webflow CMS collections without logging into the Webflow Editor. This streamlines your content workflow by letting you write, optimize, and publish all in one place. Articles sync automatically with your chosen Webflow collection, maintaining your site's design and structure.
How to Use It
Step 1: Get Your Webflow API Token
- Log into your Webflow account and go to Site Settings → Apps & Integrations → API Access
- Click Generate API Token
- Give your token a descriptive name (e.g., "Lovarank Integration")
- Select these permissions:
- sites:read - Required for field mapping
- cms:read/write - Required for field mapping and to create articles
- Click Generate Token and copy it immediately (you won't be able to see it again)
Step 2: Configure the Integration in Lovarank
- In your Lovarank account, navigate to the Webflow integration page
- Paste your Webflow API token into the API Token field
- From the Webflow Site dropdown, select your site
- From the Webflow Collection dropdown, choose the CMS collection where you want to publish articles
- Map the Lovarank fields to your collection fields
Step 3: Configure Publishing Behavior
Choose how articles should be published:
- Publish Immediately - Articles go live on your Webflow site as soon as you publish from Lovarank
- Stage for Publishing - Articles are staged and require manual publishing in Webflow
- Save as Draft - Articles are saved as drafts for review before publishing
Common Issues & Fixes
"Invalid API token" error
- Verify you copied the entire token without extra spaces
- Ensure your token has both
sites:readandcms:read/writepermissions - Check that the token hasn't been revoked in your Webflow settings
- Try generating a new API token if the current one isn't working
"Site not appearing in dropdown" error
- Confirm you're using a Webflow account that has access to the site
- Make sure the site isn't archived or deleted
- Verify your API token has the correct permissions
"Collection not appearing in dropdown" error
- Ensure your Webflow site has at least one CMS collection created
- Check that your API token has
cms:readpermission - Refresh the page and try selecting the site again
"Field mapping failed" error
- Verify your collection has fields that can accept text content
- Check that required fields in your Webflow collection have corresponding data
- Ensure field types are compatible (e.g., Rich Text fields for article content)
Articles publishing but missing content
- Review your field mapping settings
- Ensure rich text fields in Webflow are mapped to article content
- Check that image fields are properly configured for featured images
Tips & Best Practices
- Use "Stage for Publishing" initially to review how content appears in Webflow before going live
- Test with a sample article after setup to verify formatting, images, and field mapping work correctly
- Store your API token securely - treat it like a password and regenerate it if compromised
- Create a dedicated CMS collection for blog posts if you haven't already, with fields for title, content, featured image, author, and publish date
- Map optional fields like SEO title, meta description, and categories for better optimization
- Check Webflow's CMS limits - ensure you haven't reached your plan's item limit before publishing
